Preview of my studio in the making!

It is a gray, dismal day in the Hudson Valley this morning-great day to create however I still have my studio under construction. It will be well worth the wait when it is complete. Until then I have nothing but cards I have done in the past. I am working amidst the mess on one special card for a family members birthday. Once it is complete and received I will post it. I have three grandchildren who live in Florida who won't be trick or treating at my house so I decided to make them cards with goodies enclosed!
Little girls seem to love Hello Kitty. Big ones do too! This was a real simple card to make. It didn't take the entire day like most do! It is simple but I love it!
Recipe:
Hello Kitty Cartridge-not sure of the size of the cut.( 4.25"?)
Black paper by DCWV
Basic white cardstock
Orange paint chip (there I go again!) for the pumpkin cut
Pumpkin from the October 31 Cricut Cartridge
"Boo" stamp from the dollar bin at Micheals
Orange satin ribbon for the top.
Short and sweet!
This is why I have come to an almost complete halt in my card making. Check out this mess! The furry fellow is my fat cat on a diet,Opie! He is always in the middle of everything. His main objective is to find food as he is totally convinced he is starving to death. Before you start feeling sorry for the guy...he weights in at 17.5 pounds. No, he is NOT starving to death however he isn't real happy with his recent nutritional restrictions that have been forced on him. Hey....I haven't dragged him to Weight Watchers meetings yet!
I'm feeling a bit lonely here....somebody please leave me a comment so I know I'm not talking to myself!
Until tomorrow.......stay well!

Problem solved and I'm on my way!

After much trial and error I fixed my problem and now officially have only one name. There is nothing beyond reach with the internet. What a great tool! I will make modifications as I learn them but for now this is it. Now for what I began my blog for-card making and playing with my precious paper products!
I've decided to begin with one of my favorites I made for my niece who so graciously gave up her comfy bedroom in S.Carolina for us during our recent visit. While there she took us to this wonderful little cupcake shop near U.S.C in Columbia, thus the idea for the card. I just love using this technique. I wish I could remember whose blog I found this on so I could give her the credit she deserves. If anyone knows please leave me a note.
Recipe:
Kraft Cardstock cut a 5 1/2" square
Layer cut at 5 1/4" square-DCWV Sweet Stack
Double layer of  "ruffles" made with Martha Stewart Border Punches
Cupcake using Cricut Sweet Treats-cut at 3"
Frosting (my favorite part and it has ZERO WW points!):Golden Gel Medium
The heart was cut from a paint chip compliments of Home Depot (my husband insists I'm going to jail). I covered it with a layer of Glossy Accents and sprinkled it with Martha Stewarts Glitter while still wet.
Buttons by Stampin Up
The "Sweet" in the Upper left hand corner was made from embossing aluminum foil with a Cuddlebug folder and cutting that single piece away from the whole.
The Gel Medium used for the frosting dries within a couple hours and is very light weight & flexible. After drying I painted a coat of Delta Sparkle Glaze on top to give it move depth and sparkle.  And there you have it a cupcake totally free of calories but loaded with sweetness!
I had promised a Halloween project so here we go:

This is one of my fav's that I made for one of my out-of -state grandchildren. Fun,  isn't it? I used DCWV Halloween Stack and the Cricut October 31st Cart, The pumpkin was from a sheet of stickers from the dollar bin at Joanne Fabrics and the stamp (Ghouls just wanna have fun) from the dollar bin at Micheals, Yes.......I am an unemployed paper crafter so when I find a bargain I grab it!
Frugal Crafter tip of the day: Next time you are near a paint store pick up some paint chips. Not only do they cut beautifully, emboss like no other but you can get a very large unlimited variety of colors. Hint: Home Depot has really BIG paint chips. Don't tell them I sent you!
I'd like to give a special thank you to Nichole from http://canadiannickelscrapn.blogspot.com for her encouragement & offer to help me with my blog. If you haven't visited her blog please do and tell her I sent you. Not only is she extremely talented but she has a great sense of humor!

Haven't a Clue!

Guess I've done enough damage to my blog today so I had better quit while I am ahead! If all goes well tomorrow I will post one of my Halloween projects for a trial run. My blog now has 2...yes TWO names because I can't seem to make up my mind! If anyone knows how I can rid of the first I would love your input. Until tomorrow....sweet dreams and may the crafting angels bless you!

So glad you came!

Welcome to my little place in cyberspace. I have been contemplating blogging for quite sometime but never knew where to start. My passion is working with paper. I began making cards from the computer and grew into crafting from paper. It all began when my husband bought me a Cricut for Christmas so he has nobody to blame for my addiction but himself! It took me almost a year before I had the courage to learn that machine but once I started....look out! Talented? Probably not. It takes me all day to make 1 card, sometimes longer, and another day to clean up the mess I made but I sure have a lot of fun doing it! I love *stuff* and hoard glitter, ribbon,lace,brads....you name it! They know me by my first name at Micheals Craft Store. Soon I will officially have my own craft room thanks to that gem of a husband I married! I'll post pictures of my studio as it progresses. So join me....I am a novice and am open to criticisms, new techniques and advice. Leave me love and I promise I will read each and every comment. I'm certain I won't be a daily blogger but I will be around! Thanks so much for visiting and come again soon!
